saw this Roti Jala recipe on the magazine
and hand itchy for very long liao...
finally saw the Cup in JJ last Monday
and it was only RM1.50 - 5%
grapped it without second thought!
.
bearly simple recipe:
1 cup Coconut Milk, half cup Water,
1/4 tsp Tumeric Powder, 1/4 tsp Salt,
1 egg, 1 cup Wheat Flour,
cooking oil to grease pan
*sieve is very important here to prevent clogs
* in a bowl~ lightly whisk coconut milk,
egg, water, salt, tumeric powder
* sift flour into a mixing bowl
and gradually add the wet ingredients
*stir till batter get smooth
*strain batter through a fine sieve
*brush a thin layer of oil over a non-stick frying pan
*over medium heat, pour a ladleful of batter
into the roti jala cup and in a circular motion,
form a thin lacy pattern in the pan
*cook until set and slightly brown on some edges
*fold into quarters
.
the cup really gave me a lot of problems
until i nearly give up liao...
i also tried using plastic bag n cut a small edge
...after a plateful of FAILURE
i had my last try on a mineral water bottle
poke a hole on the cap
and squeeze batter on the pan
hmmm.... it works!!!
need some skills also~
the line cannot be too thick...
cannot overlap too much... cannot be too thin...
cannot have dots... blah blah... Victory!!!
it was suppose to be for breakfast
but i spent 1.5 hours dealing with it
until pass the breakfast slot liao T_T
Snakie still insisted to taste it
so i make the second batch for dinner
no failure at all~~~~~~!!!! weeeee~~~
Snakie enjoyed it~ yay! can meka again next time!
bot this from D'Sayang~
i told the guy: saya nak beli dhall (while pointing at it)
he said: ini bukan dhall...
me: huh? then apa ini?
he: ini SAMBAL!
me: .....=_="""" takpa lah, saya nak beli ni
since on the way back n while eating it
my mind still very confused~~~
i even googled Dhall & Sambal!!!!
