萝卜芋头粿
马六甲有炒‘菜头粿’(chai tao kuey)
吉隆坡有炒‘萝卜糕’(loh bak gou)
北马有炒‘粿角’(char kuey kak)
我们家厨房有炒‘萝卜芋头粿’ ^^
好有成就感喔~~~

A Kuih Story
mentioned to mom tat i wanna make pumpkin kuih
since i have half pumpkin left
when i went home
she already prepared yam & pumpkin
for my practical session
O_o
.
it's not as complicated as i tot ler
(vegetarian version)
mula-mula...
* soak blended rice flour for few hours
* fry cubed yam OR pumpkin
* add lil' water + salt + pepper + 5spice powder
* cook till tender * roughly mash
* add in the soak flour together with the water
* stir till it turn sticky n heavy
* coat mould with a thin layer of oil
* transfer half cooked mixture from wok to mould
* steam them for at least half an hour
*let it cool before cutting
